New trees and plants will be planted in and around estates in Hammersmith and Fulham (H&F) as part of a tree planting campaign by the H&F Council, with the backing of £10,000.
Trees such as Willow, Maple, Hornbeam, Alder and Silver Birch will be planted in Fulham Court, Arlington House, Ethel Rankin Court, Lancaster Court and Bayonne Estate. Shrubs will also be planted which include scrambling Roses, Buckthorns and Viburmum.
In turn, local residents will be encouraged to water and nurture them.
Councillor Andrew Johnson said: “It’s been proven that trees improve the quality of life for those around them and it is vital to maintain planting programmes to keep our estates green and pleasant places in which to live.
“We are urging residents to adopt the new saplings to encourage them to grow, and help water them.”
