Dorsia is located in a classic Georgian town house on Cromwell Road and promises a home from home for its members. The entire lower ground floor is devoted to hedonistic dance and fun in a club, the ground floor opens up into a stunning bar, and the first floor holds a bar and restaurant.
Named after the fictional restaurant in the cult film American Psycho, Dorsia is the brainchild of Nick Andreen and Fraser Carruthers. They say that Dorsia is a place where members can relax and socialise with like-minded friends.
In the wake of a £2.4 million refit overseen by interior designer George Rose, the building has been totally refurbished. Period features have been lovingly restored but are now complemented by contemporary, quirky touches and a series of changing artworks courtesy of Whisper Art Gallery.
Head Chef Alexander Baillieu will be crafting a menu of Modern European dishes in the restaurant, which will be made with the freshest and most seasonal of local organic ingredients.
Dorsia’s cocktail menu has been designed by two of Europe’s leading mixologists, multi award-winners Thomas Gillgren (Sketch) and Fredrik Olsson (Kosmopol), who aside from mixing it for the world’s glitterati, are also both Directors of the Chelsea Academy of Bartending.
The building itself was previously known as the Hudson Club, where Jimi Hendrix played his first UK concert and where Tom Jones celebrated his first number one in 1966. Allegedly, it was also the last place Lord Lucan was seen alive.
With its decedent history it’s bound to quickly become popular on the Chelsea social scene.
